About Bay SuperSitters (and Nannies!)

Originally specializing in fully screened part time and occasional care (still available through the part time/occasional sitter list), Bay SuperSitters LLC has been in the business of finding, screening, and referring highly qualified Bay Area sitters/nannies since mid-2002. The Bay SuperSitters list has been unique in its set-up (one low membership fee, and direct calling of nannies) and has successfully connected over 500 fully screened nannies with over 500 client families around the Bay.

Since 2002, many families and nannies have also requested full time (and part time over 20 hours/week) nanny referral services. Since April 2004, Bay SuperSitters has been able to also offer the same personalized service and lower agency fees, but with a more typical agency set up, for families needing care 20-50+ hours per week.

Nannies are sent to interview with families, and the total placement fee is due ONLY upon the client family hiring a great, fully screened Bay SuperSitters nanny. All client families still have the initial registration meeting in their own homes, for their convenience and the sitters' safety. All nannies are still carefully chosen, personally interviewed, and fully screened (including Trustline upon hiring).

Now nannies and families needing full time (and part time more than 20 hours/week) can be even more carefully matched, with the legwork and interviews arranged by BSS & N - taking the hassle out of your child care search!

About the Founder:

Becky Meyer, upon graduation from the University of Michigan , moved to the Bay Area to pursue her interests in childcare and business. In February 2000, Becky started the www.bay-area-sitters.com website, which she built into the Bay Area's largest free, unscreened child care job website.  (The site is under different ownership as of January 2001, and is now part of a paid site.)

The idea for Bay SuperSitters had been in the works for years, originally designed as an on-line component to the website. However, since careful screening requires face-to-face interviewing of sitters and parents alike, the SuperSitters idea moved offline, becoming the Bay SuperSitters here today.

Several years, 500+ fully screened nannies and 500+ client families later, Bay SuperSitters has fully expanded to also offer full time and part time referrals with an expanded agency role.

Becky has also run an online business (the now defunct www.subletsource.com, sold in September of 1999) and orchestrated eight dance events, but now focuses mainly on connecting parents with great sitters and nannies through Bay SuperSitters LLC.
